Interested in job training to become a paddling guide in the Canadian North? Our Northern Guide Training Program is the most comprehensive guide training program in the North!

This program is designed by northern guides for guiding in northern Canada. It’s a practical, hands-on program that will rigorously challenge you while on a 10 day whitewater canoe river expedition.

You’ll gain tools for whitewater paddling, starting in easy rapids then challenging yourself in harder water and more complex situations. Become competent performing effective rescues with limited resources—and making smart decisions when river running.

During this expedition course there will be opportunities to learn new skills in canoe cooking, river scouting and reading whitewater, and navigation with a map & compass. We cover canoe safety and equipment in a dynamic outdoor learning environment.

A great option for aspiring guides seeking work on canoe and kayak expeditions in the Canadian North.
