Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor

Discipline: Canoeing Program: Style Canoe Stream: Instructor Development

The Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor award is the entry point into the Paddle Canada Style Canoeing Instructor program. Successful candidates of this course will receive the Intro to Style Canoeing Instructor certification.


The Intro to Style Canoeing instructor is certified to

  • conduct an Introduction to Style Canoeing course
  • assist on an Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor course (Intermediate Style Canoeing skills certification is required)
  • apprentice on an Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor course (Intermediate Style Canoeing skills certification is required)
  • assist on an Intermediate Style Canoeing skills course (Intermediate Style Canoeing skills certification is required)

Course Prerequisites
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Certification
    • Intermediate Style Canoeing
    • Advanced Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor
  • Experience
    • Experience beyond that of the Intermediate Style Canoeing certification skills.

How to Register for an Instructor Course

  1. Contact the course director/organization and register with them first.
  2. Register yourself as an instructor candidate member with Paddle Canada by following these steps:
    • Are you existing Paddle Canada member or a past skill course student? Login to your account and follow the instructor candidate link there.
    • Are you brand new to Paddle Canada? Proceed to the Instructor Candidate membership form.
