Adventuress Sea Kayaking

Adventuress Sea Kayaking was founded in 2001 by Jan Kretz who has a degree in Recreation and Tourism Management and is a certified Paddle Canada instructor and sea kayaking guide. Adventuress is located in mid Vancouver Island (Nanaimo, Nanoose, Parksville and Qualicum Beach), BC and offers on-water kayaking lessons, certified courses, and skill clinics. In addition, there are on-line courses that cover a wide range of topics integral to the safety and skill development of paddlers. Especially popular is our 15 hour Seamanship & Trip Planning Course which is in its 15th year. We were the first to offer all-women tours and courses back in 2001 honouring the learning style and dynamics of an all-women group. As well, we paddle the Island in different locations for our multi-day adventures. We have the capacity to accommodate large conference, business and school groups. We do rent to those who have ocean kayaking experience and know how to rescue themselves should they capsize. Our instructors and guides are hand-picked to offer you the best experience to begin your kayaking journey. We are enthusiastic, patient, kind, and keep in mind that people have different ways of learning and want you to come away with an appreciation of kayaking and the truly beautiful paddling environment that we have here on Vancouver Island.
