Last week the board of directors approved the creation of a new SUP board committee. This new PDC will be chaired by PC instructor & past board member, Tony Palmer from Alberta. Also on the committee is instructor member and Canoe PDC advisor, Mark Scriver from Ontario. The PDC is looking for additional members to represent the coastal regions of Canada (east and/or west) and bring expertise in beach surfing to the committee. The intent of the SUP PDC is to develop an introductory program ready for launch next season 2011. Future levels will include, ‘surf’ and ‘currents’. The SUP PDC will be the 4th Paddle Canada Program Development Committee joining the Sea Kayak, Canoe and River Kayak PDC’s.
