Recreation Attendant

Reports To Recreation Manager. Opportunity to learn from Recreation Manager with 20 years experience in water sports and a Paddle Canada certified instructor. Opportunity to assist with daily paddle tours with Recreation Manager.

Summary

The Recreation Attendant will be responsible for providing recreation and all experience-based activities at Inverary Resort to ensure that the Recreation Department remains a significant asset to the Resort.

Job Duties

Provide and record daily recreation services to guests of Inverary’s Adventure Centre, including distribution of all motorized and non-motorized equipment, such as kayaks, paddle boards, pontoon boat, washer toss, soccer balls, etc.
Execute and evaluate programs, activities and events in and around the Resort to ensure they contribute to Inverary brand and provide a special guest experience
Serve customers professionally, promptly and courteously and in accordance with Inverary Resort service standards
Monitor guest satisfaction, trends and communicate opportunities and ideas to management
Engage guests, demonstrate how equipment is to be used, and ensure guest security and safety at all times
Respond to customer inquiries and concerns
Ensure all shift paperwork, duties and responsibilities are accurately completed
Act as Inverary brand ambassador and maintain knowledge of all Inverary products and services
Maintain familiarity with local attractions and events
Maintain open communication with other departments
Be continually aware of, and enforce, the highest standards of safety, personal hygiene and dress and comply with all company policies and procedures
Participate in meetings and training courses as required
Any other duties as required

Requirements

Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
(1) year of customer service experience
Experience with recreational activities, such as boating, sports, and outdoor activities, is an asset
Knowledge of local area and attractions
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills
Able to effectively communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing
Strong attention to detail and creativity
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ethical and acts with integrity
Accountable, reliable and punctual
Working Conditions

Morning, evening, and weekend shifts as well as overtime as required.
Lifting or moving up to 30 lbs may be required
Frequent bending, lifting, pulling and pushing
Work environment primarily outside, there will be some exposure to wind and summer heat with the potential for some cooler temperatures
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Salary: From $14.50 per hour

Additional pay: Overtime pay

Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:
Baddeck, NS B0E 1B0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Required Education, Skills or Certification

Some high school experience required
First Aid Certification and Pleasure Craft Operator Card a definite asset
