Job Summary
Yukan Canoe is a busy paddlesport instruction business located in Whitehorse, Yukon. We have operated for the past 24 years. We offer canoe, sea kayak, packraft and Swift Water Rescue programming across the Yukon.
Our Season is May through August.
I am looking for instructors – ideally multi discipline instructors that can teach a wide range of courses to diverse clients.
Looking for self starters and motivated individuals that are interested in working in the Yukon long term
Also looking for a key individual looking for a career position to help grow Yukan Canoe. We have a ton of equipment- canoes, packrafts, kayaks and drysuits that could see more useage. There is a ton of potential for more programming here in the Yukon. Please contact owner Trevor Braun
Job Type: Full Time
Required Education, Skills or Certification
Wilderness First Aid- ideally an 80 hour course
Paddlesport Instructor Certification in Canoe, Sea kayak and/or Swift Water Rescue- from Paddle Canada, BCU, ACA, NOLS, RCABC, ORCA or other recognized certifications.
Class 4 Drivers license to drive 15 passenger van.
Post secondary study in Outdoor Recreation, Education, Tourism
Coaching Experience
Experience Required
Paddlesport Instruction experience ideally 3 or more years. Will consider people with less experience if you are keen and wanting to build a career in the Outdoor Industry
Guiding Experience- opportunity to get in on Ground Level Packrafting Tours and Courses.
Clean driver abstract.
