Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor

Discipline: Canoeing Program: Style Canoe Stream: Instructor Development

The Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor award provides a national certification in the instruction and administration of the Intermediate Style Canoeing skills program. Successful candidates of this course will receive the Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor certification.


The Intermediate Style Canoeing instructor is certified to

  • conduct Introduction and Intermediate to Style Canoeing courses
  • assist on an Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor course (Advanced Style Canoeing skills certification is required)
  • apprentice on an Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor course (Advanced Style Canoeing skills certification is required)
  • assist on an Advanced Style Canoeing skills course (Advanced Style Canoeing skills certification is required)

Course Prerequisites
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Certification
    • Introduction to Style Canoeing Instructor
    • Advanced Solo Lake Canoeing Instructor
  • Experience
    • Experience beyond that of the Advanced Style Canoeing certification skills.

How to Register for an Instructor Course

  1. Contact the course director/organization and register with them first.
  2. Register yourself as an instructor candidate member with Paddle Canada by following these steps:
    • Are you existing Paddle Canada member or a past skill course student? Login to your account and follow the instructor candidate link there.
    • Are you brand new to Paddle Canada? Proceed to the Instructor Candidate membership form.
