Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor

Discipline: Canoeing Program: Style Canoe Stream: Instructor Development

The Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor award provides a national certification in the instruction and administration of the Advanced Style Canoeing skills program. Successful candidates of this course will receive the Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor certification.


The Advanced Style Canoeing instructor is certified to

  • conduct Introduction, Intermediate and Advanced to Style Canoeing courses
  • assist on an Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor course
  • apprentice on Advanced Style Canoeing Instructor course

Course Prerequisites
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Certification
    • Intermediate Style Canoeing Instructor
  • First Aid
    • Current certification in first aid and CPR (14-16 hours).
  • Experience
    • Experience beyond that of the Advanced Style skills.

How to Register for an Instructor Course

  1. Contact the course director/organization and register with them first.
  2. Register yourself as an instructor candidate member with Paddle Canada by following these steps:
    • Are you existing Paddle Canada member or a past skill course student? Login to your account and follow the instructor candidate link there.
    • Are you brand new to Paddle Canada? Proceed to the Instructor Candidate membership form.
