50 Years, 50 People: Alan Goodridge


Alan Goodridge is one of the unsung heroes of paddling in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.  

As a long-serving member of the various paddling organizations in Newfoundland & Labrador since the 1980s, Alan can be counted on to serve in whatever capacity is needed in any given year and has served as President of the Tumblehome Canoe Club, Newfoundland and Labrador Canoe Association, and Paddle NL (a current Paddle Canada member organization).  Alan is a certified Paddle Canada instructor and has taught at most every Paddle NL sponsored skills school, and training events organized to teach Paddle Canada Courses to the paddling public in Newfoundland and Labrador.  He has been volunteering on the Paddle Canada membership committee for many years and is currently the chair. Alan is also a very active paddler and can be counted on to lead paddles and support all club-sponsored events. He always has a smile on his face and is a real asset to the paddling community in Newfoundland and Labrador!
